Leny Yoro has confidently stated that he has no regrets about his decision to decline an offer from Real Madrid in favor of joining Manchester United.

In 2024, Yoro had the opportunity to transfer to the iconic Bernabeu but ultimately chose to sign with Manchester United, following a successful acquisition from Lille.

The 19-year-old faced difficulties during his inaugural season at Old Trafford, as Ruben Amorim’s squad concluded the Premier League in 15th place and suffered a defeat in the Europa League final against Tottenham.

Despite these setbacks, Yoro maintains that he made the right choice by selecting Manchester United, expressing his satisfaction with being part of the team. “This is a significant decision in one’s career,” Yoro remarked. “I considered various options, not just Madrid or United. Today, my choice is Manchester, and I am genuinely happy here.”

He acknowledged the discussions surrounding his decision, particularly given last season’s results. “I understand the opinions of others, but ultimately, this is my career and my decision. I am confident in my path and focused on improving in the future.”

Had he chosen Real Madrid, Yoro would currently be competing in the Champions League and contending for titles in LaLiga. Instead, he is part of a rebuilding process at Manchester United, which Amorim has indicated may take years to complete.

Nevertheless, Yoro believes the club is progressing positively under the leadership of the Portuguese coach. He expressed his optimism about achieving his aspirations in Manchester rather than in Madrid.

“Even after last season, I never felt regret or doubt,” Yoro stated. “I understand that Manchester United is a prestigious club, and you must anticipate occasional challenges. I was aware of the club’s vision before I arrived. While I did not expect to finish in 15th place in my first year, it is a reality we all must face.

“The club’s management, the coach, and my teammates are here to support my growth every day. I have confidence in this club, and I strive to give my best each day.”
