Club Am rica Forms Strategic Alliance with General AtlanticClub Am rica Forms Strategic Alliance with General Atlantic

On Tuesday, Club América announced a significant strategic alliance, revealing that global investment firm General Atlantic has acquired a 49% ownership stake in the club. Grupo Ollamani, which oversees both Club América and Estadio Banorte, will maintain the remaining 51% ownership, along with complete control over sporting and institutional decisions.

In its official statement, the club highlighted that this partnership is intended to bolster its long-term vision while preserving its core identity and leadership structure.

“This alliance introduces global expertise and a long-term perspective, while ensuring that a fundamental aspect remains intact: the leadership, direction, and identity of Club América will stay at home, alongside our dedicated supporters,” the club asserted.

The agreement will be established through a newly formed entity that will encompass Club América, Estadio Banorte, and the surrounding land. Grupo Ollamani noted that this partnership aims to expedite the next phase of growth and innovation across various aspects, including sporting, commercial, and infrastructure projects.

Emilio Azcárraga Jean will continue in his role as executive chairman of the board, ensuring continuity at the helm. Despite this partial sale, the Azcárraga family retains control, safeguarding Club América’s sporting priorities.

Additionally, the announcement highlighted a strategic collaboration with The Kraft Analytics Group, an entity within the broader Kraft Group, led by American businessman Robert Kraft. Often associated with the food sector, Kraft Group is also a significant player in global sports, technology, and data analytics, with substantial experience in the NFL and MLS. Their involvement is anticipated to deliver advanced analytics, operational insights, and effective management practices.

As part of the restructuring initiative, Club América has also launched “Grupo Águilas,” a new holding entity aimed at consolidating the club, Estadio Azteca, and adjacent properties under one unified organization.

“Our foremost commitment is to continue striving for championships, energizing the stadium, and proudly representing millions of Club América fans both in Mexico and around the globe,” the club concluded.
