Ander Barrenetxea, Orri Óskarsson, and Yangel Herrera have become the first players from Real Sociedad to return to Zubieta following the Christmas break. They are continuing their recovery processes from recent injuries, which have significantly limited their participation this season, with Óskarsson and Herrera each having played only three and two matches, respectively.

The squad is scheduled to convene at Zubieta on Monday, the 29th, for their first training session under the guidance of Pellegrino Matarazzo. As has become increasingly common, players are returning to training early, particularly those recovering from injuries. This past Friday, Barrenetxea, Óskarsson, and Yangel Herrera utilized the facilities, and it is anticipated that more teammates will join them over the weekend.

The official start of the Matarazzo era is set for Monday morning, with a training session commencing around 11:30 AM. This session coincides with the Christmas season and will be open to the public, allowing young fans to have their balls and jerseys signed by the Real players, who are receiving gifts from Olentzero and Santa Claus.

After this initial open session, it appears that the txuriurdin will return to closed training sessions, a practice that has been customary in recent seasons. This will once again distance them from the close support of their fans for months and deprive children of the opportunity to see their idols up close, as it is not only during the Christmas season that they enjoy witnessing their favorite players.
