Luis Castro Arrives in Valencia as New Levante CoachLuis Castro Arrives in Valencia as New Levante Coach

Luis Castro has officially arrived in Valencia. The new head coach of Levante landed at Manises Airport this afternoon, ready to take charge of the team and pursue the challenging goal of maintaining their position in Spain’s top football division.

“I come with great enthusiasm and conviction that we can accomplish significant things. This club is very prestigious, and together we can succeed,” the coach remarked upon his arrival at the terminal.

Upon his entry, Castro acknowledged that the club’s readiness regarding the transfer market was not a determining factor in his decision. He believes that Levante possesses a strong squad already: “It wasn’t one of the conditions. I came here because I see it as a historic club with a strong identity. However, it is clear that for Levante and all clubs worldwide, we will make good signings when possible. But that was not a condition for my arrival. I believe we have a good squad as it stands. We can achieve even better results with a few additional players, but this team has fought hard and has not performed poorly. With just a little more, I think we can improve our results.”

The Portuguese coach mentioned he has not yet spoken with his new players, although he has been in contact with club officials. “I have communicated with the people at the club, but I prefer to speak with the players in person. I want to get to know them and discuss my thoughts, their insights, and what we need to change.”

Castro will lead his first training session on Monday at the Ciudad Deportiva de Buñol, as the team prepares for their upcoming match against Sevilla at the Sánchez Pizjuán for the 19th round of La Liga.
