Following a second loan move to Villarreal in the summer transfer window, Solomon initially made a strong impression, scoring a goal and providing an assist in his first two La Liga appearances. However, as the season progressed, he gradually fell out of favor at the Spanish club. As the year draws to a close, the Israeli winger has managed to accumulate only 358 minutes on the pitch across 11 appearances in all competitions, contributing one goal and four assists.

Reports from El Periodico Mediterraneo indicate that Solomon is frustrated with his limited game time in Spain. His representatives are not ruling out a potential departure from Villarreal during the January transfer window. A move away from the club could be advantageous for both Solomon and Villarreal, as it would help the Yellow Submarines to free up their squad and reduce their wage expenditures.

According to AS, Solomon’s loan contract includes a release clause that would allow him to terminate his loan earlier and leave Villarreal in January. If he triggers this clause, there is a possibility that he could return to his parent club in the Premier League, Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs manager Frank will then need to assess whether to reintegrate the attacker into his squad for the latter half of the 2025-26 campaign or to loan him out again short-term.

In light of a challenging start to the new season, Frank may consider bolstering his squad to enhance the team’s performance in the second half of the season. Tottenham has been closely monitoring Vasco da Gama’s emerging talent, Rayan, for several months, encouraged by his rapid development and consistent performance in the Brazilian Serie A.

Recent reports suggest that Rayan has parted ways with super-agent Pini Zahavi, which could benefit Spurs. Previously, Zahavi’s management had positioned Barcelona as the frontrunner for Rayan’s signature, given ongoing discussions between Zahavi and the club’s director of football, Deco. With Zahavi no longer representing the player, Tottenham may feel more optimistic about their chances of securing the 19-year-old’s move to the Premier League.

Currently, Tottenham sits in 14th place in the Premier League table after 17 matches, having lost their last two league games against Nottingham Forest and Liverpool. Despite this disappointing run, Frank recently asserted that his team is on the ‘right track,’ stating to Sky Sports, “I think that’s fair. It doesn’t work if you say, ‘Ah, the pros are, by the way, are so good. We have so many nice underlying performance indicators, but we lost 15 games in a row.’ It doesn’t work like that, so we need to win, and we need to win a lot of football matches.

“What I like is that we haven’t had two bad performances in a row. Maybe we lost two games in a row, but not two bad performances. I think it’s a big difference. We performed terribly against Arsenal, which is very bad, but we put in a very good performance against PSG. For example, a poor performance against Nottingham Forest, but a strong one against Liverpool. I know we lost, but that’s what you need to look at. That’s a good indicator of how we bounce back, how we work with the players and the team. I think that’s a sign of something going in the right direction.”

Tottenham will return to action on Sunday, traveling to Selhurst Park for an important fixture against Crystal Palace.
