omidbasir- For the first time, LaLiga presented five awards at the Globe Soccer Gala in Dubai. This initiative stems from a strategic partnership aimed at expanding the brand of the Spanish league in the Middle East. Barcelona emerged as the dominant force, claiming four out of the five trophies.

Joan Laporta had a busy evening, accepting three awards: Best Team for the previous season of LaLiga, Best Forward awarded to Rapinha, and Best Coach, which went to Hansi Flick, as expected.

“We played an offensive game, colorful in nature, as evidenced by our 102 goals. During challenging moments, the team rose to the occasion and overcame the slump we faced in November,” Laporta commented. He expressed deep admiration for Flick, stating, “He is a passionate individual with a unique sensitivity towards players, applying discipline with respect. We executed a strong press, and while we are currently facing a few challenges, we are at the top of the table and hope to replicate last season’s success with something extra.”

Regarding Rapinha, Laporta highlighted his importance: “His leadership is crucial; he brings passion, intensity, and talent, and consistently pushes his teammates to perform at their best.” Although the Brazilian could not attend, he sent a video message expressing gratitude to LaLiga for being named the best player of the championship.

Lamine Yamal was honored with the award for Best Young Player of the previous season, presented by his idol, Andrés Iniesta. “I’m thrilled to receive this award from a legend like Andrés, whom I admired on television as a child,” remarked the young Barcelona star, who described himself as “an easy-going and cheerful person, which is enough for me.”

Jan Oblak was recognized for the Best Save of the past season. The seasoned Atlético Madrid goalkeeper made an outstanding save during matchday 9, where he faced the Real Sociedad. In the 12th minute, he made a backward dive to clear a looping header from Zubimendi, and just two seconds later, he denied a close-range shot from Aguerd, who seized the rebound. Notably, Oblak received this accolade even after making what some have termed the best save of his career in the final match of the league at Girona, further positioning him as a strong contender for the award at future ceremonies.
