Valencia Fans Gather for Open Training Session at MestallaValencia Fans Gather for Open Training Session at Mestalla

Today, around 5,000 Valencia fans gathered at the Mestalla Stadium to take part in the club’s only open training session of the year. Scheduled during the festive holiday period, the stands displayed a commendable turnout despite the cold and unpleasant weather affecting the city of Turia.

The festive atmosphere, characteristic of this time of year, was enhanced by the presence of many families, including young children. However, the mood was also marked by chants directed against Peter Lim, the club’s owner, which have been resonating in the stadium for many years. Supporters expressed their frustration with Lim, who has led the club into a challenging period since his arrival, breaking numerous negative historical records.

During the session, captain José Gayà and head coach Rubén Corberán took a moment to address the audience, thanking them for their support. “You are, from the bottom of our hearts, the best we have. You are the reason we fight. We hope that in this new year we can bring you the joy that you all deserve,” commented the coach. Gayà added, “We are not surprised by the number of fans here because in the locker room, we know that you never fail us.”

On a more concerning note, the absence of players Pepelu and Tárrega, both suffering from a fever, along with injured goalkeeper Dimitrievski, marked a downside to the day. The team is set to play again on January 3, but there is optimism that both Valencia players may recover in time for the match.
