The Mallorca team has returned to training following the holiday break, with their sights set on the upcoming league match against Girona, scheduled for Sunday at 18:30. Currently, Mallorca occupies 13th place in the league standings with 18 points from 17 matches, three points ahead of Girona, who sits in 18th place.

Under the guidance of coach Jagoba Arrasate, the team trained on Monday at the Antonio Asensio Sports City without any new faces, as they await further developments from the club’s sporting management regarding potential improvements to the squad during the winter transfer window.

Notably absent from Monday’s training session were goalkeeper Pichu Cuéllar due to discomfort, Mateo Joseph due to illness, and Omar Mascarell, who is currently competing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Equatorial Guinea. Takuma Asano is expected to return to the island shortly, while Dani Rodríguez has departed the club after nearly eight seasons, having mutually terminated his contract on December 19.

However, the training session did include Nil Torreguitart, the reserve team goalkeeper, and Iliesse Salhi, a left-back from Mallorca B. Young striker Marc Domenech also participated in the training as he negotiates a loan move for the remainder of the season to Ceuta in the Segunda División, as reported by Radio MARCA Baleares.

On December 31, at 10:30, Mallorca will hold an open training session at the Son Moix Stadium, allowing fans to bid farewell to the year in a festive and family-friendly atmosphere.

In conjunction with this event, Mallorca and the Fundació Reial Mallorca are organizing a charitable initiative in collaboration with the Barceló Foundation and its ALISOL project (Solidarity Food Donation). Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items, which will be collected at the stadium entrances. These donations will be distributed to 26 charitable organizations that serve vulnerable populations at risk of social exclusion throughout Mallorca.
