Despite being halfway through the new Eredivisie season, Peter Bosz often reflects on the dramatic conclusion of the last season. Ajax appeared to be on track for the championship, especially following their 2-0 victory in Eindhoven, but ultimately squandered their lead at the last moment. The PSV coach believes he understands the reasons behind this turn of events.

The comeback by PSV at De Kuip proved to be detrimental for Ajax. On March 30, Ajax delivered a significant blow in the title race by winning 2-0 in Eindhoven. “We were six points behind Ajax and had to face them at home,” Bosz recalled during an interview with PSV Play. “We thought: now is our moment. If we had won, we would have cut the deficit to three points, potentially turning the tide. However, we lost that match, and suddenly we found ourselves looking down the standings.”
