Jordi Altena Joins Heart of Midlothian from RKC Waalwijk

Jordi Altena, a product of Vitesse Arnhem’s youth academy, is set to join Scottish Premiership leaders Heart of Midlothian on January 1 for an undisclosed fee.

The 22-year-old right-back, who has made over 50 senior appearances, has finalized a contract that will keep him at Hearts until the end of the 2028-29 season.

This transfer is contingent upon approval from the Scottish FA and the necessary international clearance; however, Altena may be available for Hearts’ upcoming match against Livingston on Saturday.

Derek McInnes, the head coach, expressed optimism about the early transfer, stating, “It’s good that we’re able to get our business started so early. We have a strong squad here with options all over the field, but I have previously mentioned the need to bolster certain areas. I believe we have achieved that by bringing Jordi on board. He possesses the qualities we believe will contribute to his success here at Hearts, and we hope his style of play will excite the fans.”
