Brennan Johnson s Potential Move to Crystal PalaceBrennan Johnson s Potential Move to Crystal Palace

Brennan Johnson netted 11 goals in the Premier League last season.

The 24-year-old is contemplating a move to Crystal Palace following the club’s agreement with Tottenham for a £35 million transfer.

As reported by BBC Sport on December 18, the Eagles were making significant progress in their pursuit of the Wales international but opted to hold off on a formal approach until after the two teams met in the Premier League on Sunday.

An agreement between the clubs has now been established for Johnson to transition across London.

However, the player has yet to confirm his decision regarding a move to Selhurst Park.

Johnson is expected to engage in discussions about his future within the next 48 hours, especially given the interest from various Premier League clubs. Bournemouth is among those who regard him highly, viewing him as a potential replacement for Antoine Semenyo, should he depart in January.

Tottenham’s manager, Thomas Frank, indicated that Johnson is available to face Brentford on New Year’s Day.

He remarked, “Brennan has been a top professional. He trained well today and is ready for the game against Brentford in two days’ time.”

Tottenham is actively seeking a new attacker this January, which could further restrict Johnson’s playing opportunities.

Reports suggest that they are interested in RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande, 19, and Manchester City forward Savinho, 21.

“Brennan is a very important player for us,” Frank emphasized.

Earlier this month, BBC Sport revealed that Tottenham was open to the possibility of selling Johnson, who was the club’s top scorer last season with 18 goals.

He solidified his place in Spurs history by scoring the decisive goal in their Europa League final against Manchester United in Bilbao last May, culminating a 17-year trophy drought for the club.

The coaching change from Ange Postecoglou to Frank has resulted in Johnson having a more limited role this season, with only six Premier League starts and no league goals since the opening two matches of the campaign.
