FC Barcelona has officially decided to terminate its sponsorship agreement with Zero-Knowledge Proof (ZKP), a company associated with blockchain technology, which had become the club’s official cryptocurrency protocol partner until 2028.

According to a statement from the club, the decision was made following a breach of the contractual terms established in the agreement. After thorough investigations by the compliance and legal departments, FC Barcelona identified activities that did not align with the stipulated terms of the sponsorship.

ZKP, headquartered in a tax haven, is linked to Andrew Tate, a former kickboxing champion facing 21 charges in the UK judicial system, including serious allegations such as rape, human trafficking, assault, and controlling prostitution.

Moreover, ZKP had launched a digital token that was solely promoted by Tate, with which FC Barcelona had no affiliation or involvement in its issuance and management.

The club emphasized that the promotion of such assets was not included in the signed agreement and reaffirmed its commitment to terminate the contract with ZKP.

In conclusion, FC Barcelona reiterated its dedication to transparency, the safeguarding of its institutional reputation, and adherence to the strictness of the agreements it enters into.
