Getafe s Contract Situations and Coaching Stability Ahead of the New SeasonGetafe s Contract Situations and Coaching Stability Ahead of the New Season

With the onset of the new year, a host of players whose contracts expire in June are now eligible to negotiate with other teams starting this Thursday, aiming to join new clubs for the 2026/27 season. At Getafe, this concerns five players whose contracts conclude on June 30.

The players in question are Djené, Allan Nyom, Domingos Duarte, Juan Iglesias, and Diego Rico. Ángel Torres, the club’s president, has consistently stated that discussions regarding these situations would commence only after achieving the season’s objectives. Consequently, any dialogue at this juncture would suggest that Diego Rico and Juan Iglesias are likely to renew their contracts, while Djené’s future depends on several factors, including the continuation of coach José Bordalás.

The situation surrounding José Bordalás is more straightforward than it appears. There are no unresolved issues or complications. If he wishes to continue, he will do so. The president has publicly confirmed this, and Bordalás’s impressive track record has granted him the right to make this decision. Getafe is eager for his continued presence, and the coach is aware that his standing at the Coliseum is one of absolute admiration.

While offers from clubs outside of southern Madrid are anticipated, Bordalás is focused on securing a solid project that will allow him to grow as a coach, especially after his experiences in Valencia.

Additionally, players like Abu Kamara, Mario Martín, and Adrián Liso are also contemplating their futures beyond June, with their buyout options still pending.
