Sevilla FC has kicked off the new year with training sessions at their Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios, focusing on the upcoming Liga match against Levante this Sunday. The team aims to return to winning ways and has an important addition to their roster.

Argentinian center-back Fede Gattoni has rejoined coach Matías Almeyda after completing his loan at River Plate. The 26-year-old defender was signed by Sevilla in January 2023 but has spent time on loan at various clubs, including San Lorenzo and Anderlecht, before returning to his home country with River Plate. During his time with Sevilla, he has made only four official appearances.

Upon his return, Gattoni is wearing the provisional jersey number 25 while the club determines his future plans. His return was the highlight of today’s training session, which also featured players Peque, Azpilicueta, and Nianzou. Notably absent were Vargas, who is in the final stages of recovery, injured Suazo, and international players Ejuke and Adams, who are currently participating in the Africa Cup of Nations. Coach Almeyda will also be without the suspended Marcao for the match on Sunday.
