Roberto Carlos, a legendary figure in Brazilian football and a prominent player for Real Madrid, has confirmed he is “recovering well” after undergoing what he referred to as “a preventative medical procedure.”

In an update shared with his fans on Instagram, the 52-year-old former left-back posted a cheerful image of himself in a hospital bed and addressed circulating rumors about his health. He stated, “I would like to clarify recent information that has been circling. I recently underwent a preventative medical procedure, planned in advance with my medical team. The procedure was successful, and I am well. I did not suffer a heart attack.”

Expressing optimism for the future, Carlos added, “I am recovering well and looking forward to returning to full fitness and resuming my professional and personal commitments soon. I sincerely thank everyone for the messages of support, care, and concern. I would like to reassure everyone that there is no cause for concern. My heartfelt thanks go to the entire medical team who took care of me.”

A celebrated athlete, Carlos claimed four La Liga titles and three Champions League trophies during his 527 appearances for Real Madrid, and he was part of the Brazilian national team that lifted the World Cup in 2002. Known for his exceptional free-kick abilities, his illustrious career also included tenures at Palmeiras, Inter Milan, Fenerbahce, and Corinthians.
