In an interview with Trouw, Hendriks reflects on his tumultuous period at Ajax, addressing his vulnerabilities as an executive. “My weakness is that I always want to achieve a winning outcome. I struggle to accept it when things don’t go as planned,” he admits. “My motivation at Ajax was to strengthen the foundation with my experience and knowledge. When that doesn’t materialize, it results in profound disappointment. If progress stalls and it’s implied that I am to blame, that affects me deeply.”
