El Oviedo has finalized the addition of Uruguayan forward Thiago Borbas after reaching an agreement with Red Bull Bragantino. The deal consists of a loan arrangement valid until June 30, which includes an option for the blue entity to purchase the player.

Born in Montevideo in 2002, Borbas becomes the second winter signing for the Oviedo team, intended to fill the void left by Salomón Rondón and to enhance the scoring capabilities of the squad, which currently has the lowest goal tally in the Primera División.

The forward began his professional career at River Plate in Montevideo, where he netted 29 goals in 94 official matches. His impressive performance opened doors to Brazilian football, leading him to sign with Red Bull Bragantino, a top-tier team.

During his tenure at the São Paulo club, the Uruguayan striker participated in 134 matches over nearly three seasons, scoring 27 goals and establishing himself as a regular in their attacking lineup.

Borbas is an intense player with a central striker profile, known for his significant involvement in pressing and off-the-ball play—qualities that coach Guillermo Almada was keen to incorporate into the blue squad.

Additionally, Borbas brings international experience, having represented the senior Uruguay national team on three occasions, contributing to competitiveness and depth within the blue locker room.
