Sky Germany reports that VfB Stuttgart is actively seeking to strengthen its striker options during the upcoming winter transfer window. One of the candidates under consideration is Racing Santander’s Jeremy Arevalo. The 20-year-old has made an impressive impact in the Spanish second division, scoring seven goals in just 12 appearances. Arevalo’s contract in northern Spain extends until 2027, though it includes a release clause of €7 million. Stuttgart faces competition for his signature from fellow Bundesliga team Eintracht Frankfurt, as well as Serie A clubs AS Roma and Udinese. Should Stuttgart successfully sign Arevalo, the transfer fee would surpass the €5.25 million Bayer Leverkusen paid for Christian Kofane from Albacete last summer. Additionally, RB Leipzig recently acquired Yan Diomande from relegated Leganes for €20 million, indicating a trend of Bundesliga clubs investing in LaLiga2 talent. Currently, Stuttgart’s striker options are limited due to the injury of Ermedin Demirovic earlier in the season. Presently, Deniz Undav and Tiago Tomas are the only available players for the striker role, leaving the team without a recognized forward. In recent weeks, VfB Stuttgart has also been linked with Real Madrid striker Endrick; however, the out-of-favor Brazilian does not appear to be a viable option for the club at this time.
