Sevilla FC experienced a disappointing start to 2026, suffering a heavy defeat at home against Levante in the 18th round of LaLiga EA Sports. Just before halftime, Iker Losada scored the opening goal for Levante, with Carlos Espí and Carlos Álvarez extending the lead in the second half to conclude the match at 0-3.

Following the match, Sevilla’s captain, Nemanja Gudelj, spoke with Movistar Plus+, expressing the team’s disappointment: “It hurts us a lot. We wanted to start the year with three points, and losing 0-3 at home to Levante is a hard pill to swallow.”

Regarding the match dynamics, Gudelj noted, “The significant difference was their effectiveness in taking advantage of their opportunities, while we missed all of ours. We started poorly and cold, and conceding that goal just before halftime was detrimental. They were more effective, and they deserved to win.”

He also addressed the impact of missing players, stating, “It is normal for the absence of key players to be felt. Everyone wants the team to perform at its best, but the competition must continue with those present.”

On the team’s performance at home, he remarked, “We struggle at home. We need to focus, build confidence, and capitalize on the few opportunities we create in LaLiga.”

Finally, Gudelj acknowledged the fans’ frustration, saying, “Losing 0-3 at home to Levante understandably angers the supporters, and we respect that sentiment.”
