omidbasir- Paul Mullin has officially returned to Wrexham after his loan spell at Wigan Athletic was cut short midway through the season.

Mullin was a key player in Wrexham’s rise to prominence under the ownership of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, notably featured in the Disney+ documentary “Welcome to Wrexham.” During his time with the club, he scored an impressive 110 goals in 170 matches, contributing to three consecutive promotions within the English football league. However, his stint at Wigan, which began last summer, has now concluded.

Wigan Athletic expressed their gratitude, stating, “The club wishes Paul all the best in his future career and thanks him for his efforts in a Wigan Athletic shirt.”

The return of the 31-year-old striker was confirmed by Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson following their recent 2-1 victory over Derby County.

In his announcement, Parkinson noted, “Mulls’ loan spell has been terminated. We will have a chat with him this week when he comes back in. He needs to train this week as he’s missed a few days of training.”

Mullin’s last appearance for Wrexham occurred in February 2025, where he took on a more limited role during the team’s promotion campaign from League One last season. In addition to his football career, Mullin also made a cameo appearance in the Hollywood films Deadpool and Wolverine, thanks to the influence of the club’s high-profile owners.
