omidbasir- Gerard Piqué, the former centre-back for Manchester United and Barcelona, who retired from professional football in 2022 to concentrate on his business endeavors, was recently seen walking through the streets of a Spanish autonomous city after FC Andorra’s latest defeat in the Segunda División.

Under Piqué’s ownership, FC Andorra has swiftly ascended through the football divisions. However, Sunday proved challenging for the 38-year-old president, as his team suffered a damaging 2-1 loss to AD Ceuta at the Estadio Alfonso Murube. This defeat leaves FC Andorra struggling in the lower half of the standings, perilously close to the relegation zone.

Adding to the evening’s difficulties, a group of fans recorded a video that circulated on social media, showing them pulling up alongside Piqué’s entourage in a vehicle. As the World Cup winner walked with his hood up in an attempt to maintain a low profile, the fans rolled down their windows and played Shakira and Bizarrap’s ‘Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53’ at maximum volume.

The track, which debuted shortly after Piqué’s high-profile split from Shakira in 2022, contains lyrics that mock him for “trading a Ferrari for a Twingo” and a “Rolex for a Casio.” While the fans laughed and filmed their encounter, Piqué remained expressionless, choosing not to react as he continued his walk away from the stadium.

This is not the first instance where Piqué has faced public criticism since the breakup. During last year’s Kings League finals in Madrid, he was met with chants of “Shakira, Shakira” from the crowd, prompting him to take the microphone and call for respect.

For the time being, Piqué must redirect his focus to the pitch, as his FC Andorra team urgently needs points to halt their decline in the second tier. Currently, they sit 14th in the standings after 20 matches, trailing Ceuta by eight points, who occupy the final promotion play-off position. Their next match will be against Cultural Leonesa, who are level on points with Piqué’s squad.
