Scottish Premiership Match Postponements Due to Severe WeatherScottish Premiership Match Postponements Due to Severe Weather

A snowy scene in West Lothian from 2021 highlights the recent weather challenges facing Scottish football.

The Scottish Premiership match between Livingston and St Mirren, scheduled for Tuesday, has been postponed due to a frozen pitch.

Despite this disruption, the match between Rangers and Aberdeen at 20:00 GMT, along with three Challenge Cup fixtures – Airdrieonians vs. Montrose, Raith Rovers vs. Queen of the South, and St Johnstone vs. Ross County – are still on track to take place at 19:45 on the same day.

In contrast, five Challenge Cup ties have been postponed: Arbroath vs. East Fife, Ayr United vs. Stranraer, Partick Thistle vs. Inverness Caledonian Thistle, Queen’s Park vs. Forfar Athletic, and Stirling Albion vs. Stenhousemuir. These matches have been rescheduled for Tuesday, January 13, at 19:45.

The cold weather has caused significant disruption across Scotland, leading to the postponement of seven matches in the SPFL on Saturday.

Livingston’s next scheduled match is at home to Kilmarnock on Saturday at 15:00, while St Mirren is set to host Falkirk.
