Rosenior Appointed Head Coach of Chelsea FCRosenior Appointed Head Coach of Chelsea FC

Rosenior has officially succeeded Maresca, signing a six-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge as he embarks on his inaugural role in the Premier League.

He expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity, stating, “I am extremely humbled and honored to be appointed Head Coach of Chelsea Football Club. This is a club with a unique spirit and a proud history of winning trophies.

“My responsibility is to protect that identity and construct a team that embodies these values in every match we play as we strive for continued success. Being entrusted with this role means the world to me, and I am grateful to all involved for the opportunity and confidence in my ability to fulfill this position. I will dedicate myself fully to achieving the success that this club deserves.

“I firmly believe in the principles of teamwork, unity, and mutual support, and these values will be central to everything we undertake. They will serve as the foundation for our success.

“I am eager to collaborate with this exceptionally talented group of players and staff, to forge strong connections both on and off the pitch, and to cultivate an environment where everyone feels united and motivated by a shared goal.”

Although Rosenior’s appointment was confirmed on Tuesday, he has yet to train with his players. McFarlane oversaw training in preparation for the upcoming clash with Fulham, resulting in Rosenior attending the match alongside Chelsea directors at Craven Cottage. He will officially lead the team in the FA Cup third-round tie against Charlton Athletic this weekend, followed by the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Arsenal.

Meanwhile, Maresca has publicly addressed his departure from Stamford Bridge, stating, “LEAVE THIS WORLD A LITTLE BETTER THAN YOU FOUND IT.

“My journey with Chelsea began with the early rounds of the Conference League. I depart with the inner peace of leaving a prestigious club like Chelsea in a strong position.

“I would like to extend my gratitude to all Chelsea fans for their unwavering support over the past 18 months, which was crucial for achieving Champions League qualification, winning the Conference League, and securing the Club World Cup victories that I will always cherish!”

In a unique move, Rosenior held a press conference prior to formalizing his exit from Strasbourg to explain his decision. He remarked, “I was fully focused on Strasbourg’s last match, but since then I have received permission to engage with one of the biggest clubs in the world, the Club World Cup champions.

“It is a privilege to be approached by such a club, and it appears that I will soon be managing this football club.”

Describing the opportunity, Rosenior admitted, “It’s an unbelievable chance at an incredible club, the world champions, and one I simply couldn’t refuse. Plus, I can return home to see my children, as I have made sacrifices being away from them.

“These have been the best 18 months of my professional career at Strasbourg, where I have met remarkable individuals, which is only possible through the hard work of everyone associated with this football club.”

Rosenior will begin his tenure this weekend against Charlton in the FA Cup but hopes to lead the Blues to a Premier League victory against Fulham to build momentum for his first match. Currently, Chelsea sits in fifth place, just three points shy of fourth-placed Liverpool.
