AC Milan’s head coach, Massimiliano Allegri, has announced that United States forward Christian Pulisic is fit to make his return from a hamstring injury this weekend. Pulisic suffered a low-grade tear in his right hamstring during the first half of the U.S. men’s national team’s 2-1 friendly victory over Australia on October 17. In a news conference held on Friday, Allegri stated that Pulisic is available for Milan’s upcoming match against Parma on Saturday. “We have Pulisic back, who is doing well and ready to play,” Allegri confirmed. Despite his return to fitness, Pulisic was excluded from coach Mauricio Pochettino’s roster for the USMNT’s friendlies against Paraguay and Uruguay scheduled for November 15 and November 18. Pochettino explained that Pulisic was left off the roster “to provide him the opportunity to recover fully.” Pulisic’s return will undoubtedly provide a significant boost for Milan. The 27-year-old has been in excellent form this season, netting six goals in eight appearances across all competitions. Milan currently sits in third place in the Serie A standings, just one point behind defending champions Napoli. Allegri remarked, “There’s a great atmosphere at Milanello; we need to remain grounded, strong, and poised even in unexpected situations. Our goal remains Champions League qualification. The season is lengthy, and we have many rivals, so we will work diligently to improve, and we will reassess our position from March onwards.” In addition to the update on Pulisic, Allegri also noted that Mexican striker Santiago Gimenez and French midfielder Adrien Rabiot are expected to return from their injuries following the November international break.
