Heavy snowfall is forecasted to continue on Wednesday, accumulating significantly across the region. Despite these severe winter conditions, the KNVB has yet to issue any announcements regarding the upcoming football weekend. The Eredivisie and the Keuken Kampioen Divisie are set to resume their seasons on Friday, but many football fans are advocating for the cancellation of all matches.

The recent heavy snowfall has already disrupted training for professional clubs throughout the Netherlands. Many teams are unable to train on their regular grass pitches and are forced to utilize artificial turf or other alternatives. Several clubs have even opted for training camps in warmer locations.

Fans are vocally urging the KNVB to take action. Messages on social media express concern, with one user stating, “Hey @KNVB, please cancel the entire weekend’s schedule now. We need to protect fans from unnecessary travel, especially since some clubs are struggling to return from their training camps.” Another message read, “@KNVB, make an early decision to cancel the weekend matches across all levels to prevent last-minute chaos and provide clarity for everyone. Thank you for your consideration.”

There is a growing sentiment among supporters that a timely decision is crucial, as many may be en route to stadiums when last-minute cancellations occur, causing frustration for both home and away fans.
