Kevin Keegan, the former England striker and manager, has been diagnosed with cancer.

Keegan enjoyed a remarkable playing career, featuring prominently for clubs such as Liverpool, Hamburg, and Newcastle United. He was also a two-time recipient of the prestigious European Footballer of the Year award.

Following his retirement from professional play, Keegan transitioned into management, leading teams including Newcastle United, Fulham, the England national team, and Manchester City.

In a statement, the 74-year-old’s family reported, “Kevin was recently admitted to hospital for further evaluation of ongoing abdominal symptoms. These investigations have revealed a diagnosis of cancer, for which Kevin will undergo treatment. Kevin is grateful to the medical team for their intervention and ongoing care. During this difficult time, the family is requesting privacy and will be making no further comment.”
