On Friday, Sevilla FC concluded its fourth training session of the week at the Ciudad Deportiva José Ramón Cisneros Palacios, marking the penultimate practice before facing Celta Vigo on Monday. After focusing on specific gym work yesterday, José Ángel Carmona returned to regular training alongside his teammates this morning. Along with players like Juanlu Sánchez, Lucien Agoumé, Rubén Vargas, and Isaac Romero, Carmona is among those who could potentially depart during the winter transfer window should a significant offer arise, despite being a key player for Matías Almeyda.

Heading into the match against Celta, Sevilla is dealing with six confirmed absences. César Azpilicueta, Gabriel Suazo, and Alfon González continue to recover from soleus injuries and are not expected to return for several more days. Additionally, Chidera Ejuke and Akor Adams are set to compete in the quarter-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations, representing Nigeria against Algeria this Saturday at 17:00, following the resolution of financial disputes involving the Super Eagles and the Nigerian Football Federation. Lastly, Marcao will serve his second match suspension due to his red card against Real Madrid.

Coach Matías Almeyda has opted to enhance the youth presence during this Friday’s training session. Joining regulars Andrés Castrín, Oso, Manu Bueno, and Miguel Sierra, forwards Alexis Ciria and Álex Costa have also been invited. Ciria has been called up for the first time to the Spanish U-18 national team, where he will join his teammate Nico Guillén for a friendly match against Italy on Wednesday, the 14th.

Sevilla has two more training sessions scheduled for this week. Matías Almeyda will address the media on Sunday ahead of the match against Celta, which is part of the nineteenth round of LaLiga EA Sports. The match is set to take place at the Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán Stadium on Monday at 21:00.
