Oviedo s Struggles Continue Despite Late GoalOviedo s Struggles Continue Despite Late Goal

It seemed that Carlos Tartiere would finally celebrate a victory for its team, something that hasn’t happened since August 30 when Oviedo triumphed over Real Sociedad. However, this was not the case once again. Although Ilyas Chaira ended the long drought without a goal for the blue team, which had lasted 107 days and 597 minutes of play, the subsequent goal from Betis soured the conclusion of the first half of the season for the Carbayón side.

As the first half of the season closes, the team finds itself at the bottom of the league standings. With only two victories out of 19 matches and after cycling through three different coaches, Oviedo has managed to score just nine goals. They currently face a five-point gap from safety, painting a bleak picture for their future prospects.

The team will begin the second half of the competition next Saturday in Pamplona, facing Osasuna. Unfortunately, they will be without David Carmo, who received his fifth yellow card of the season. On a positive note, Fede Vilas will return after serving his suspension, and Nacho Vidal is hopeful to be available to return to what was once his home prior to signing with Oviedo.
