SC Heerenveen sought to capitalize on this situation by attempting to acquire Edvardsen. The Friesland club expressed interest in bringing him on board but ultimately faced setbacks and shifted their focus to Luca Oyen from RC Genk. Gerry Hamstra confirmed in an interview with Omroep Abe, part of Leeuwarder Courant, that a wide range of names was considered, including Edvardsen. “However, players must be eager to play for Heerenveen, and they also need to be financially viable. In Edvardsen’s case, this was not feasible.”
