Paco Cortés Called Up to U19 National Team for Friendly Match

Paco Cortés has had a busy week, with more activity expected in the coming days. The promising young player from Levante has been called up to represent the Spanish U19 national team in a friendly match against Italy.

This match is scheduled for Wednesday, January 14, at 14:00 hours, taking place at the Italian Football Federation complex in Coverciano, located in the province of Florence.

The Andalusian forward’s selection for this match marks his return to the national team after he was omitted from Paco Gallardo’s squad for matches against the U18 teams of Australia and Japan last December.

According to an official statement from Levante, Cortés will depart for national team duties this Monday and is expected to return to training under Luís Castro on Thursday to prepare for the challenging match against Real Madrid on January 17 at 14:00 hours, which will be held at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium.

This call-up is particularly significant as it precedes the official matches for the Second Phase of qualification for next year’s European Championship, to be hosted in Wales from June 28 to July 11.
