Feyenoord seems to be falling from bad to worse. After a disappointing first half of the season, the Rotterdam team played to a draw against sc Heerenveen on Sunday. This raises concerns about the stability of coach Robin van Persie’s position.

In the podcast “Feyenoord: De Verlenging,” journalist Dennis van Eersel commented, “If they continue to drop points against Sparta and Heracles, Van Persie’s position could be in jeopardy. However, if you listen closely, he still seems secure in his role. The next two league matches are critical; they cannot afford to lose any points.”

Addressing the potential dismissal of Van Persie, he noted that such a decision can only be considered if there is a unanimous sentiment within the squad that he is the problem. “Currently, we are not hearing those kinds of sentiments,” he added. The situation is concerning, but it is not entirely dire. Dennis Kranenburg pointed out, “They are certainly aware of the pressure, especially with the point gap narrowing to just three points. However, a mid-season coaching change can be unpredictable in its effectiveness. For now, a change does not seem imminent.”
