Álvaro Arbeloa has officially assumed the role of head coach at Real Madrid, marking a decisive step for the club. This is not a temporary arrangement or a stopgap measure until the end of the season. According to information obtained by MARCA, Arbeloa has signed a contract that extends his association with the club beyond June.

Reports suggest that the agreement encompasses this season plus an additional year, reinforcing the club’s commitment to Arbeloa as the leader of their first-team project. The intention is for him to continue managing the team once the current season concludes, unless the sporting management and club presidency find that the predetermined objectives have not been met, leading to a possible termination of his contract.

In his initial public appearance as the head coach, Arbeloa exercised caution regarding his contractual situation. He refrained from making definitive statements about his role, simply asserting that he will remain in position “as long as the club desires.”

Arbeloa’s new project is accompanied by significant changes within the coaching staff. The most notable addition is Antonio Pintus, who will serve as the physical trainer for the first team. He will be joined by Ricardo da Silva, who previously oversaw physical training for the youth team.

His trusted assistant will be Julián Carmona, a personal friend of Arbeloa, who has been integral to his previous successes. Kevin Cardeiro will also remain alongside Arbeloa as one of his personal assistants. However, Diego López, who joined the staff last summer as a goalkeeping coach, will not continue in this new phase and will resume his role with Real Madrid Castilla. The specific training for goalkeepers Thibaut Courtois and Andriy Lunin will continue under the guidance of Luis Llopis, a goalkeeping coach with an independent contract with the club. The final member of the coaching staff is Francis Sánchez, who will serve as a technical analyst.

Thus, Arbeloa embarks on his tenure at Real Madrid with both contractual stability and a support team that reflects a blend of the club’s vision and his existing coaching philosophy.
