Medical examinations have confirmed that Hugo Álvarez has sustained a deltoid ligament sprain in his right ankle. The young player suffered the injury during a collision with Iago Aspas the day before the match against Dinamo Zagreb, preventing him from participating in the Europa League game, despite traveling with the team.

Remarkably, last season, Álvarez scored the equalizing goal against Barcelona at Balaídos. Unfortunately, he will miss this Sunday’s match against the Barcelona squad, and his return will depend on his recovery prior to the league’s resumption.

Meanwhile, Radu is undergoing specific training protocols due to a sprain in his right thumb, making his availability for the match against Barcelona unlikely. Consequently, Iván Villar is expected to continue as the starting goalkeeper for Celta.

Javi Rueda is also unavailable, and Williot Swedberg is still engaging in partial workouts with the team following a left ankle sprain he sustained while playing for the Swedish U21 national team a month ago.
