Contract Extension for Sean Steur at Ajax: Progress Still Required

Sean Steur suggested last week that a contract extension with Ajax was almost finalized, but according to club observer Johan Inan from the Algemeen Dagblad, an official agreement is not imminent.

Inan remarked, “The discussions between Ajax and the management are not as advanced as was initially believed.”

Steur himself stated, “Yes, I believe things will work out, and I will extend my contract with Ajax. It has never been my plan to leave. We need to come to an agreement. If everything goes well, I will simply extend with Ajax.” However, Inan does not foresee an extension occurring in January. “The situation is a bit more complex. From what I’ve gathered from club management and his agent Yalcin Sarica, the negotiations are still very preliminary. They are still at the initial proposal stage.”

Meanwhile, Steur secured a starting position at Ajax before the winter break. The young player has attracted interest from several foreign clubs, including Eintracht Frankfurt.
