PSV Seeks Additional Striker Amid Injury ConcernsPSV Seeks Additional Striker Amid Injury Concerns

PSV Eindhoven is looking to enhance its squad this winter by adding an extra striker. With multiple injuries affecting the team, Guus Til currently stands as the sole option for coach Peter Bosz at the forefront of the attack. The podcast Transfermind, hosted by SoccerNews, recently explored potential reinforcements for the Eindhoven club, including names like Joshua Zirkzee and Thijs Dallinga.

In the pursuit of an additional forward, several names have emerged. Among them is Tobias Lauritsen, a towering striker who has consistently impressed at Sparta Rotterdam and is set to be out of contract after this season. However, the Spangenaren have no intention of parting with their top scorer during the winter transfer window. According to transfer journalist Mounir Boualin, Lauritsen is not among the frontrunners to bolster PSV’s attack.

The situation for potential international players from the Netherlands also presents challenges. Alongside Lauritsen, Memphis Depay, Zirkzee, and Dallinga have been mentioned as possible targets. Boualin notes, “These two will certainly be on PSV’s radar,” but he adds a significant caveat. With Ismael Saibari returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, Peter Bosz is likely to revert to playing Til as the striker, supported by Saibari. Therefore, any striker acquired must be prepared to accept that a starting position may not be guaranteed. The partnership between Til and Saibari has proven to be highly effective, and Bosz is unlikely to disrupt that dynamic for a new addition.
