Ron Jans recently announced that he will retire as a football coach at the end of this season. In light of this decision, FC Utrecht will begin the search for a suitable successor.

Rick Kruijs, currently with FC Volendam, has been mentioned as a potential candidate for the position at his former club, FC Utrecht.

The name of Maurice Steijn briefly surfaced as a possibility; however, he is likely to extend his contract with Sparta. Anthony Correia from Telstar is also being considered, along with the club’s own Rick Kruijs. The 40-year-old coach has indicated in conversations with ESPN that he would be open to the opportunity.

Ron Jans, 67, has expressed his feelings regarding his impending retirement, stating, “I have never kept it a secret that my desire to step down has grown over the past few years. I have an incredible job and I thoroughly enjoy my time at FC Utrecht. However, one realizes that time is not under one’s control. In recent years, there has been an increasing need for time—time for my family, friends, hobbies, and perhaps for myself as well.”
