Sky Germany reports that Borussia Dortmund has emerged as the second Bundesliga club to express interest in Toulouse defender Charlie Cresswell.

Recent reports indicate that Wolfsburg has already engaged in discussions with the Ligue 1 side regarding the England Under-21 international and a potential transfer to the Autostadt this winter.

In response, Dortmund has ramped up their interest in Cresswell. The club has conducted preliminary talks about the defender; however, there remains a lack of consensus on whether to proceed with a formal offer. The Preston native continues to be a target for the Bundesliga, with summer transfer opportunities also being explored.

In France, sources suggest that Cresswell is valued at approximately €25 million.

Cresswell made the move to southern France in the summer of 2024 from Leeds United for €4.5 million. Since then, he has accumulated 52 appearances for Toulouse. This current season, he has played 17 matches and scored three goals, matching his total from the previous season.

Dortmund’s interest in the 23-year-old is partly driven by the anticipated need to revamp their defense before the next season. Niklas Süle is expected to depart the club upon the conclusion of his contract, while it is uncertain if Dortmund will retain Aaron Anselmino after his loan from Chelsea. Additionally, the contract status of Nico Schlotterbeck remains unresolved.
