Borussia Dortmund Secures Deal for Rising Star Kaua Prates

Sky Germany reports that Brazilian defensive talent Kaua Prates has reached an agreement with Borussia Dortmund. The 17-year-old left back is poised to join the Bundesliga club this summer after representing Cruzeiro Esporte Clube in Brazil. Dortmund’s interest in Prates has intensified, particularly as German left back Almugera Kabar seems likely to transfer to Hamburg.

Transfermarkt indicates that Cruzeiro is hesitant to release their player, having reportedly turned down a €10 million offer from Dortmund. The sporting director of the Belo Horizonte-based club stated that they have attracted interest from larger clubs for the €6 million-valued youngster but maintain that Prates will not be sold for a figure that does not align with the club’s expectations.

“We are in no hurry to sell, and we are not actively seeking to do so,” said sporting director Joaquim Pinto. “We have received offers from world-class clubs, which we rejected because we felt they did not adequately reflect the player’s potential.”
