Sevilla Prepares for Match Against ElcheSevilla Prepares for Match Against Elche

Sevilla FC is currently preparing for their upcoming fixture against Elche, scheduled for Monday, January 19, at 19:00. This match marks the beginning of the second half of the league season. The team, under the guidance of Matías Almeyda, held a training session this morning at the sports city. They will continue to train at the same venue and time over the weekend, with additional sessions on Saturday and Sunday. Almeyda is expected to address the media following Sunday’s training before the team departs for Elche in the afternoon.

A key development today was the return of Djibril Sow to team training. The Swiss midfielder had worked in the gym yesterday but rejoined his teammates for practice today. However, Alexis Sánchez was absent from training and remains a doubt for the match at Martínez Valero. The Chilean sustained a pelvic contusion prior to the match against Celta, which prevented him from starting, though he did play approximately 30 minutes in the second half.

Meanwhile, Suazo continues to progress in his training regimen and is likely to return to the squad for the upcoming match against Elche. In their previous encounter during the first half of the season at Sánchez-Pizjuán, the game ended in a 2-2 draw, with goals from Isaac and Peque for Sevilla, while former Sevilla players André Silva and Rafa Mir scored for Elche.
