Sevilla FC has struggled during its visits to the Martínez Valero Stadium. The team is set to face Elche this Monday at 21:00, marking the start of the second half of the league season for both clubs. Out of 26 official matches played at Elche, Sevilla has suffered defeat in 13 (50%), drawn six (27%), and achieved seven victories (27%), with the last two encounters ending in draws.

In the 2020/21 season, Sevilla’s unbeaten streak of over 40 years at Elche came to an end when they lost 2-1, with goals from Raúl Guti and Carrillo for the home side, and a response from Luuk De Jong. The two most recent matches, in the following season and the 2022/23 LaLiga, also resulted in draws, with the first featuring goals from Enzo Roco and Youssef En-Nesyri, and the latter seeing contributions from Tete Morente and Erik Lamela.

A significant portion of Sevilla’s defeats at the Elche ground occurred between 1959 and 1977, during which they lost twelve of the fifteen matches played there, securing only one narrow victory, thanks to a goal from Diéguez in the 1964/65 season. In the first half of this season, the match held at Sánchez-Pizjuán ended in a draw, with local goals from Peque and Isaac, while André Silva and Rafa Mir scored for Elche.
