Athletic Club Prepares for Crucial Match Against MallorcaAthletic Club Prepares for Crucial Match Against Mallorca

On Friday, Athletic Club concluded their final training session in preparation for their upcoming trip to Mallorca. With an intense week ahead that includes a cup match and a Champions League fixture against Atalanta, the team recognizes the imperative of securing three points against the Bermellones.

The club has announced the list of players selected for the match, with the significant return of Álex Berenguer being the highlight. The Navarrese player missed the previous encounter against Cultural Leonesa but has now fully recovered from a traumatic arthritis injury in his right toe and is expected to be a key asset for coach Ernesto Valverde during this demanding period in January.

Unfortunately, both Vesga and Laporte remain unavailable for Valverde. The Spanish international is projected to return in two weeks, as stated by the head coach during a press conference. Additionally, there are long-term absences to consider, including Sannadi, Prados, Egiluz, and Yeray.

Nico Serrano, who was originally included in the squad, will not participate in the match. Athletic Club released a medical report indicating that he sustained a muscle injury to the adductor muscle of his left leg, and his condition will be monitored.

Moreover, Ernesto Valverde continues to place his trust in several players from the reserve team, such as Monreal and Selton, who will once again travel with the first team.
