Van Persie Responds to Criticism Over Player SubstitutionVan Persie Responds to Criticism Over Player Substitution

This week, Robin van Persie received significant criticism for disregarding medical advice regarding the substitution of Givairo Read after sixty minutes. Unfortunately, Read sustained another injury in the 89th minute during the match against Heerenveen, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

The Feyenoord head coach denies having ignored medical recommendations. Read is now facing another hamstring injury. Speaking ahead of the upcoming home match against Sparta, Van Persie said, “Read will be out for the time being. This is very disappointing for him, and for us as well. It’s difficult to specify a return date, but we anticipate he will be sidelined until at least March,” indicating a recovery period of approximately six weeks.

In more positive news, Anis Hadj Moussa has returned following his participation in the Africa Cup. Van Persie commented, “It’s always uncertain what exactly he experienced during the tournament, but we now have a clearer picture. Not everything is ideal, but he is in good condition, and we are pleased to have him back.”
