After netting 14 goals in 75 appearances for Aston Villa, Lehmann made the exciting decision to transfer to the esteemed Italian club Juventus.

Reflecting on her move, she expressed her joy, stating: “I’m overjoyed; Juve is a club with a great history. To be honest, I was a bit nervous when I arrived for my medical check-up at J|Medical and saw a sea of fans. But everything has gone well. I have spent my entire career in England, learning a lot along the way. I came here as a young girl, and now I feel more mature. In recent years, I’ve gained insights into the various phases of the game, and I believe I can contribute my experience to Juventus.”

Despite her enthusiasm, the former West Ham player had a limited role during her inaugural season, making 22 appearances and scoring two goals, often coming off the bench. Consequently, she decided to move to Como for greater opportunities.

Upon leaving Juventus, she remarked, “I want to express my gratitude for this incredible year, especially to my teammates and the amazing fans. The hard work we put in last season led to titles, creating memories I will cherish forever. We weren’t just teammates; we were a family, and I have formed lifelong friendships. Leaving such a remarkable club and people I hold dear was a challenging decision. Juventus, this team, and their devoted fans will always occupy a special place in my heart.”

After officially joining Como last August, the 26-year-old, who is no longer with Luiz, was thrilled about this fresh challenge.

Upon signing a three-year deal, she stated: “This is my first time joining an independent club, not linked to a men’s team. This was a key factor in my decision, as it reflects a different approach to football that could inspire others. I want to contribute to that vision. Here, I can develop both as a player and as an individual. My goal is to help the team compete at the highest level while inspiring a new generation of fans and athletes. F.C. Como Women offers a platform where I can be both strong on the pitch and true to myself off it. I can fully embrace who I am and channel that into something positive for those who are watching.”

Looking ahead, her tenure at Como may not be permanent. Reports from BBC Sport indicate that Leicester City has engaged in discussions about a potential transfer in January. It remains unclear whether the Foxes are considering a loan or a permanent deal. Lehmann, who boasts over 16 million Instagram followers, the highest among female footballers worldwide, has scored once in her first nine appearances for Como.

While the potential move to Leicester is uncertain, they currently sit ninth in the Women’s Super League and are set to play Tottenham on Sunday. Como, meanwhile, will face Napoli in the Italian top flight on Saturday evening.
