Ajax Targets Oleksandr Zinchenko as First Winter Signing

Oleksandr Zinchenko is poised to become Ajax’s first signing of the winter transfer window. The Ukrainian is expected to provide a significant boost to the quality of the team, but there are additional developments unfolding in the capital city.

Zinchenko’s arrival signals a new chapter for Ajax, especially in light of their recent performances where they appeared vulnerable. In their cup match against AZ, Ajax suffered a staggering 6-0 defeat, followed by a disappointing 2-2 draw in their league fixture against Go Ahead Eagles. According to club analyst Lentin Goodijk, these results highlight a lack of leadership within the squad. “There have been several situations arising from this deficiency, which is something Ajax needs to address during the upcoming transfer period,” Goodijk noted on the website of Voetbal International.

In addition to Zinchenko, Goodijk anticipates that Ajax will pursue a defensive midfielder. “They have identified approximately five to ten potential players.
