The first team of Real Betis returned to training on Monday following a rest day granted by Manuel Pellegrini after their significant and commendable victory over Villarreal on Saturday. The training session saw the notable return of Nelson Deossa to the group.

The Colombian midfielder was removed from the squad list last weekend due to a fever caused by tonsillitis. Appearing to have recovered, he started the workday alongside his teammates and, if all goes as planned, he is expected to be available for the seventh match of the UEFA Europa League group stage, which his team will play this Thursday in Thessaloniki against PAOK.

There are concerns regarding Brazilian player Antony, who was substituted in the final moments of the match against Marcelino’s team due to pubic discomfort and trained individually in the gym today. Given the high number of minutes and matches he has played since joining from Manchester United, the coaching staff may choose to give him some rest in the coming days. His absence adds to that of injured players Isco, Junior, Bellerín, and Cucho, who are all still in recovery.

Additionally, Moroccan players Abde and Amrabat have not yet joined their teammates. They lost the African Cup final with their national team last night. The winger played the entire match, including extra time, making it unlikely that he will be included in the travel roster for Wednesday’s trip to Greece. Meanwhile, Amrabat continues to experience ankle discomfort and will undergo examination by the medical staff upon his return to Seville to determine the exact nature of his problem and the necessary recovery time.
