Celta Vigo Faces Key Europa League Match Without Ilaix MoribaCelta Vigo Faces Key Europa League Match Without Ilaix Moriba

In the crucial Europa League match on Thursday at Balaídos against Lille, Claudio Giráldez will be without Ilaix Moriba, who is suspended due to accumulated yellow cards. This is a significant loss for the Celta Vigo side given Moriba’s importance in the team’s midfield structure.

Notably, the midfield position has become increasingly sparse following the departures of Damián and Beltrán, transitioning from one of the most populated areas to one with limited options. For the upcoming match against the French side, Giráldez will primarily rely on Miguel Román and Hugo Sotelo, who are expected to start, unless he decides to reposition another player.

Moriba has been a pivotal player for Giráldez, as evidenced by his consistent participation throughout the season. He has played in all 20 LaLiga matches, along with four Europa League games and two Copa matches, totaling 26 appearances and accumulating 1,925 minutes of play.

On the other hand, after not playing a single minute against Rayo Vallecano to ensure their freshness for this Thursday’s match, both Borja Iglesias and Iago Aspas are likely to start in the final fixture of the Europa League group stage.
