Ajax has put forward five new candidates for its Supervisory Board, with Lesley Bamberger, father-in-law of player Steven Berghuis, likely to be appointed as the new chairman.

The restructuring of the Board follows the planned departures of Danny Blind and Sirik Goeman. Ajax has announced that the nominees include Anita Coronel, Marry de Gaay Fortman, Edo Ophof, and Duncan Stutterheim, as reported on the club’s official website.

Vice-chairman Dirk Anbeek commented, “It was essential for the Supervisory Board to form a robust new team for the future. We believe we have succeeded with the individuals now being proposed. This lineup reflects a wide-ranging and fresh approach, ensuring that all necessary competencies are well represented, along with a strong connection to Amsterdam and a deep affinity for Ajax. When looking at the careers of the five proposed new members, it is clear that they bring diverse and relevant expertise, along with significant experience that is vital for the Supervisory Board of Ajax.”
