Ángel Haro, the president of Real Betis, spoke to the media on Wednesday at San Pablo Airport prior to his team’s journey to Greece, where they will face PAOK in the seventh round of the UEFA Europa League group stage. Haro took the opportunity to discuss the future of Sofyan Amrabat, whose loan is set to expire in June, as well as the medical situations of both Amrabat and Isco.

“Establishing timelines for medical issues is quite complex and varies for each individual. I want to emphasize Sofyan’s complete commitment to Betis,” stated Haro. “He is also eager to represent his national team, but I recall that after his injury, a person from his circle came to help him in his recovery for the derby; he also attempted to play against Barcelona, but his body simply did not cooperate. We have seen that he has barely played for Morocco as well,” he added.

Regarding the possibility of extending Amrabat’s loan or converting it into a permanent transfer to Betis, Haro commented: “We are in discussions with him. We are pleased with his performance. Our priority is for him to recover as soon as possible.” This decision will naturally depend on the progress of his recovery, as he is scheduled to undergo ankle arthroscopy in the Netherlands later this week, and how he performs upon his return to the pitch.

Isco is also eager for his return, and Haro touched upon this during his remarks: “We are very much looking forward to welcoming our captain back. He is keen to assist his teammates and the club. His presence would be crucial for any team. We are doing our utmost to facilitate his speedy recovery. Injuries have their timelines, and he wishes to return as soon as possible.”
