Ajax to Part Ways with Ra l Moro as He Returns to SpainAjax to Part Ways with Ra l Moro as He Returns to Spain

Ajax is preparing to bid farewell to Raúl Moro, who joined the club from Spain just six months ago amid much fanfare but has struggled to make a significant impact. The right winger is on his way to CD Osasuna.

According to ESPN reporter Thijs Zwagerman, Moro experienced homesickness, which has led him to wish to return to his homeland after only a brief stint in the Netherlands. Additional details from De Telegraaf indicate that Osasuna will pay around nine million euros for the transfer, with half of that amount paid upfront. Spanish sources report that this includes 4.5 million euros immediately, along with a 50% sell-on clause. Ajax acquired Moro last summer for eleven million euros.

In a recent episode of SoccerNews’ Transfermind, presenter Daan Jurgers speculated whether Ajax might reconsider holding onto Moro, especially if a Spanish coach were to join the team. Transferspecialist Mounir Boualin responded, noting that players often perform better under a coach with a similar background. However, he added, “From what I have seen of Moro so far, I do not find it particularly impressive. Therefore, I can understand if Ajax considers selling him for a suitable offer, as it appears to be a mismatch. Selling him would indeed be preferable to sending him out on loan with an option to buy; in that case, it makes more sense to keep him until the summer.”
