Quinten Timber s Potential Transfer to Olympique MarseilleQuinten Timber s Potential Transfer to Olympique Marseille

Quinten Timber is poised to leave Feyenoord for Olympique Marseille. The Rotterdam club stands to gain a substantial sum from his winter transfer, a topic currently discussed in the SoccerNews podcast, Transfermind.

Tensions escalated publicly last weekend between Timber and his coach, Robin van Persie. The 24-year-old midfielder made an unexpected appearance on ESPN, where he openly criticized his manager. “This has happened several times now, where the coach fails to protect his players. It has happened again with me. There is a limit,” Timber stated, among other comments. Van Persie has suggested that Timber does not exhibit sufficient effort or the right intentions during training and matches. Following the game against Sparta Rotterdam, which ended 3-4, the head coach remarked that he saw “no way back” in their relationship.

In terms of the transfer fee, earlier reports from De Telegraaf estimated it to be between €10 and €12 million. However, journalist Boualin believes the final amount may be somewhat lower, stating, “The clubs are currently negotiating the transfer fee. I expect a figure between €8 and €10 million. I don’t think it will be much lower than that,” he speculated.
